Rapido driver assaulted by auto driver in Bangaluru

Another day, another incident of racial abuse and violence against a member of the working class. This time, it was a Rapido driver who was targeted by an auto driver in Bengaluru's Indiranagar. The incident occurred on Monday near the Indira Nagar Metro Station, and a video of the attack went viral on social media.

In the video, the auto driver can be seen verbally harassing and racially abusing the Rapido driver. He accuses the bike taxi driver of being a foreigner who is taking away jobs from locals. The auto driver even goes so far as to smash the bike taxi driver's helmet.

This incident is particularly disturbing because it comes at a time when tensions between traditional auto drivers and employees of ride-hailing companies such as Ola, Uber, and Rapido are already high. There have been several incidents in recent years of auto drivers attacking and harassing ride-hailing drivers, who they see as a threat to their livelihoods.

But this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable. No one should be subjected to verbal or physical abuse because of their race or occupation. We must work together as a society to build a culture of respect and tolerance, where everyone is valued and protected.

That means ensuring that all workers, regardless of their occupation or background, are able to earn a decent living and support themselves and their families. It means building a culture of empathy and understanding, where people from different backgrounds can come together and work towards a common goal. And it means standing up against hate and bigotry wherever we encounter it, whether it's on the streets or on social media.

In the end, we must remember that we are all human beings, with the same hopes and dreams, fears and anxieties. We may have different skin colors, different accents, and different job titles, but we are all part of the same community. And if we work together, we can build a brighter, more inclusive future for all.
